Paris

A wine bar close to Lamarck Caulaincourt. If you lean on the table you can feel the ground shake as the metro passes down below, close by. So much of this old city is underground. Metro lines, catacombs, sewers. The city is a sphere. We forget this in the day to day but it extends in all directions; geographically, lexilogically, aerially, subterranteanly, externally, internally, historically, temporally, gastronomically, artistically, imaginatively, architecturally, musically, globally. Wherever you are you in it you are simultaneously on the edge and at the very centre.
